The Waste Management Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2006

The Department of the Environment has made a Statutory Rule entitled The Waste Management Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2006 (S.R.2006 No.280). The Rule, which is made under powers conferred by the Waste and Contaminated Land (Northern Ireland) Order 1997, makes provision for the application, to agricultural waste and non-mineral waste from mines and quarries, of the existing waste management controls that are already in place to comply with the EC Waste Framework Directive and the Landfill Directive. The Regulations come into operation on 31st July 2006.
