NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR CONSENT IN PURSUANCE OF SECTION 34

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Section 36(1)(a) of the Control of Pollution Act 1974 (As Amended), that an application has been made to SEPA by Scottish Water for consent to discharge a maximum flow of 17.4 litres per second of Preliminary and Primary treated sewage effluent to the River Endrick at NGR NS 548 882 from an Emergency overflow at Balfron Wastewater Treatment Works, Balfron G63 0RN.

It should be noted that the sewage system will be designed to ensure that a discharge of sewage effluent from any emergency overflow will occur only in the event of a mechanical or electrical failure.

Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to The Registrar, SEPA, 5 Redwood Crescent, Peel Park, East Kilbride G74 5PP not later than 28 February 2006, quoting reference WPC/W/73289.

A copy of the application may be inspected free of charge, at the above SEPA office, between 9.30 am and 4.30 pm Monday to Friday (except local and national holidays), and by prior arrangement at the local SEPA office at Law House, Todd Campus, West of Scotland Science Park, Maryhill Road, Glasgow G20 0XA (Tel 0141 945 6350).
