Relocation of a “Zebra” pedestrian crossing in Hertford Road near Mandeville Road and Holly Road

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Enfield has approved under section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:   the relocation of the existing “Zebra” pedestrian crossing in Hertford Road which lies approximately 2.5 metres north-east of the north-eastern kerb-line of Holly Road. The pedestrian crossing facility would be relocated approximately 5.5 metres north-east of that kerb-line opposite or adjacent to No. 812 Hertford Road. The boundaries of the zebra controlled area would remain unchanged.   A plan indicating the proposals can be inspected at the Reception Desk, “B” Block, the Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield, Middlesex EN1 3XD, during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive.   Persons desiring to object to the relocation of the pedestrian crossing should send a statement in writing to that effect, and in the case of an objection stating the grounds thereof, to the Borough Engineer, the Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield, Middlesex EN1 3XD, quoting the reference number KWG/TG52/617, by 27th January 1998.   Under the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, many of the reports made to a Committee of the Council are open to the press and to the public. When this happens any documents used to a material extent in compiling the report are also open to inspection. This means that any letter you write to the Council in response to this notice may be available to the press and to the public, who would be entitled to take copies of it if they wish. P.
