Section 23—Pedestrian Crossings

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Southwark propose to introduce a Pelican pedestrian crossing in Blackfriars Road, as detailed below. Controlled areas on either side of the proposed crossing would prohibit the waiting, loading and unloading of vehicles in the lengths of the road specified below. The existing zebra crossing and its controlled areas, in Blackfriars Road, south of Valentine Place, is to be revoked.

(a) The east side. The Pelican pedestrian crossing will commence 30 metres south of the southern kerb-line of Pocock Street southwards for a distance of 3 metres.	The controlled area shall cover a distance of 21 metres in a northerly direction and 19.5 metres in a southerly direction from the limit of the crossing.
(b) The west side. The Pelican pedestrian crossing will commence 8 metres south of the southern kerb-line of Valentine Place southwards for a distance of 3 metres.	The controlled area shall cover a distance of 19 metres in a northerly direction and 19 metres in a southerly direction from the limit of the crossing.

Revocation of pedestrian crossing
  The existing zebra crossing in Blackfriars Road, situated south of the southern kerb-line of Valentine Place, together with the associated controlled areas is hereby revoked.
