The A64 Road (Tadcaster-Bilbrough) (Prohibition of Various Traffic Movements) Order

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that he proposes to make an Order under sections 1(1) and 2(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on the A64 Trunk Road in the district of Selby in the County of North Yorkshire.   The effect of the Order will be to prohibit:   (a) any vehicle from making a U-turn through the gap in the central reservation opposite the junction of the A64 with Redhill Field Lane, or opposite Robinsons Colton, Steeton House Farm, Streethouses or Bowbridge Farm,   (b) any vehicle from making a U-turn from the A64 eastbound carriageway to the westbound carriage through the gap in the central reservation opposite Bilbrough Lodge or Steeton Grange,   (c) any vehicle from making a U-turn from the A64 westbound carriageway to the eastbound carriageway through the gap in the central reservation opposite the Aagrah Restaurant, or opposite the junction with Colton Lane or Slice Lane,   (d)) any vehicle when entering the A64 from the Aagrah Restaurant to proceed in any direction other than westwards, or   (e) any vehicle which has an operating weight exceeding 7.5 tonnes, when entering the A64 from Colton Lane, to proceed in any direction other than westwards.   Exemptions will be provided for emergency services vehicles.   A copy of the proposed Order, a plan illustrating the proposals and a statement explaining the Secretary of State’s reasons for proposing to make the Orders may be inspected during office hours at North Yorkshire County Council, Highways and Transportation Department, No. 4 Area Office, Fulford Lodge, Heslington Lane, Fulford, York YO1 4HW, or may be seen at, or obtained by application to the Director, Highways Agency, PO Box 206, City House, New Station Street, Leeds LS1 4UR.   Any person wishing to object to the Secretary of State’s proposals to make the Order should send a written statement of their objection and the grounds thereof, to the Director’s address given above.
