Notice of deposit of proposals for the replacement of a Structure Plan
Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset Joint Replacement Structure Plan

The Joint Committee for Strategic Planning and Transportation on behalf of the four District Councils of Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol City, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire, have prepared proposals for the replacement of the Avon County Structure Plan. If, and when, these plan proposals are adopted they will form part of the development plan for Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset. The development plan forms the basis for decisions on land use planning affecting that area.   Copies of the proposals are available, for public inspection, free of charge, during normal office hours from 19th June 1998, at:   Bath and North East Somerset Council offices at Trimbridge House, Trim Street, Bath; Riverside, Temple Street, Keynsham and The Hollies, High Street, Midsomer Norton.   Bristol City Council offices at Brunel House, St. Georges Road, Bristol.   South Gloucestershire Council offices at Civic Centre, High Street, Kingswood and Council Offices, Castle Street, Thornbury.   North Somerset Council offices at Town Hall, Weston-super-Mare.   Objections to, and representations in respect of, the proposals, should be sent in writing to Roger Daniels, Director, Joint Strategic Planning and Transportation Unit, Floor 5, Wilder House, Wilder Street, Bristol BS2 8PH, before 31st July 1998. Objections and representations should specify the matters to which they relate and the grounds on which they are made. They may also be accompanied by a request to be notified at a specified address of the withdrawal, adoption or rejection of the proposals.   Only objectors whose objections are made in writing and arrive at the address specified above within the 6 week period ending on 30th July 1998, will have a right to have their objections considered.   Further information is available from the address above, or telephoning 0117 903 6868.

Notice of Intention to Adopt Proposals

  If no objections are received during the period given for making objections, the Joint Committee for Strategic Planning and Transportation on behalf of the four District Councils of Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol City, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire, intend to adopt the proposals on the expiry of that period.
