Church Hill, Wilmington and Red Street, Southfleet Conservation Areas

Notice is hereby given under the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990, section 69, that the Dartford Borough Council after consultation has determined that the areas described in the Schedule to this notice are areas of special architectural or historic interest the character of which it is desirable to preserve or enhance and has therefore designated these areas as conservation areas.   The effect of the designation of the conservation areas is as follows:   1.  Conservation area consent will now be required for the demolition of all unlisted buildings (other than excepted buildings) in the areas;   2. Planning applications for development which would in the opinion of the local planning authority affect the character or appearance of the conservation areas must be given publicity and representations received as a result of the publicity must be taken into account in determining the application;   3. It becomes an offence subject to certain exceptions to cut down, lop, uproot, willfully damage or willfully destroy any tree in the areas except with the consent of the local planning authority;   4. The local planning authority are now under a duty to formulate and publish proposals for the preservation and enhancement of the areas.   Maps of the conservation areas may be inspected, free of charge, during normal office hours at the office of local planning authority at Civic Centre, Home Gardens, Dartford DA1 1DR.    Church Hill, Wilmington, centred around St. Michael and All Angels Church and including all properties fronting Church Hill and High Road, between the junction of Sackville Road and the A2, all properties in Church Walk and No. 3 Church Field.    Red Street, Southfleet, including all properties fronting Red Street (north) from Fairlawn to Chapter Farm House, and those properties fronting Red Street (south) from Amberlee to Fillbaskets, together with Nos. 2-14 Brakefield Road.
