Universities of Oxford and Cambridge Act 1923

A Statute made by the Governing Body of Girton College in the University of Cambridge, on 1st December 2000, amending the Statutes, has been submitted for the approval of Her Majesty in Council, and notice of its having been submitted is published in accordance with the provisions of the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge Act 1923. The purposes of the proposed amendments are to increase the quorum for a Meeting of the Governing Body, to include Professorial Fellows in the Augmented Council, to widen the qualifications for election to Life Fellowships and Non-Stipendiary Fellowships, and to increase the purposes for which unexpended income of certain trust funds may be used. It is also proposed that obsolete material should be removed from the Statute on Scholarships and that an error in the Statute on the Academic Staff should be corrected.
