DECLARATION OF NATIONAL NATURE RESERVE
Parishes of Crowle, Goole Fields, Thorne and Hatfield. Counties of Lincolnshire, East Yorkshire and South Yorkshire. In pursuance of section 19(3) of the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949 and all other powers enabling them in that behalf, English Nature hereby declare that the land having a total area of 1.8 hectares or thereabouts, situated in the parish of Crowle in the county of Lincolnshire, and shown cross hatched and unshaded on the map(s) (which land was included in the Humberhead Peatlands National Nature Reserve No 2 Declaration made by English Nature on 29 March 1996) has ceased to be held by English Nature and ceased to be managed as a nature reserve. In pursuance of section 19(1) of the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949 and section 35(1) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 and all other powers enabling them in that behalf, English Nature hereby declare that the land having a total area of 1,497 hectares or thereabouts, situated in the parish of Crowle in the county of Lincolnshire, the parish of Goole Fields in the county of East Yorkshire, and the parishes of Thorne and Hatfield in the county of South Yorkshire and shown single hatched and shaded yellow on the map(s) has been acquired and is being held by English Nature. In pursuance of section 35(1) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 and all other powers enabling them in that behalf, English Nature hereby declare that the land having a total area of 6.33 hectares or thereabout, situated in the parish of Growle in the county of Lincolnshire and shown cross hatched and shaded yellow on the plan, is being held by Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust, a body approved by English Nature. And in pursuance of section 19(2) of the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949 and section 35(1) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 and all other powers aforesaid, English Nature hereby further declare that all the above said land is being managed as a nature reserve. This declaration is additional to the land previously declared, which is shown un-hatched and shaded yellow on the maps. Certified copies of the Humberhead Peatlands National Nature Reserve No 3 Declaration 2005 have been deposited for public inspection, free of charge, during normal office hours at the offices of Doncaster, North Lincolnshire and East Riding of Yorkshire District Councils and at the offices of English Nature at Bullring House, Northgate, Wakefield and Northminster House, Peterborough.
