THE PUBLIC HEALTH ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1967

The Department of Health has made a Statutory Rule entitled "The Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel) (Amendment No. 5) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2020", (S.R. 2020 No. 163) which came into operation on 31 July 2020.

The Rule amends the Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2020 to provide that a person who is required to be in self-isolation is not required to isolate themselves from a visitor to the place where they are self-isolating if the visitor is there to provide certain services including care and medical assistance, to remove the exemption from the requirement to self-isolate for certain health or care professionals, to omit Luxembourg from a list of exempt countries and territories from the requirement in regulation 4 of the International Travel Regulations to self-isolate for 14 days after their arrival in Northern Ireland.

It also amends the list of specified competitions in Schedule 4 (which is relevant to the exemption from the requirement to self-isolate for elite sportspersons).
