TAKE NOTICE that a drought permit has been granted by the Environment Agency on 25 April 2023 in respect of River Lyd, following an application for a drought permit by South West Water Limited (“the water Company”) to the Environment Agency under Section 79A of the Water Resources Act 1991 as amended by the Environment Act 1995.

The drought permit, which will apply until the end of May 2023, authorises the Company to abstract water from the inland water known as River Lyd for the purpose of public water supplies. The permit is subject to the provisions of the Schedule of Conditions.

Anyone may inspect the permit, free of charge, during normal working hours at:
