Control of Pollution
Department of the Environment
The Department of the Environment has made a Statutory Rule entitled The Anti-Pollution Works Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2003 (S.R. No. 7).
The Rule comes into operation on 29th January, 2003.
The Rule is made under Articles 17(5)(a), 18(5) and (6) and 30(1) of the Water (Northern Ireland) Order 1999.
The Regulations supplement the Water (Northern Ireland) Order 1999 and make consequential amendments to the Control of Pollution (Application and Registers) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2001. They are primarily concerned with reducing the risk of water pollution and ensuring the polluter or potential polluter meet the costs of preventative or restorative works.
Copies of the Rule may be purchased from the Stationery Office Bookshop, 16 Arthur Street, Belfast BT1 4GD.
