NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR CONSENT IN PURSUANCE OF SECTION 34
Notice is hereby given, in accordance with section 36(1)(a) of the Control of Pollution Act 1974 (As Amended), that the following application for consent to discharge has been made by Scottish Water to the Scottish Environment Protection Agency:
Ref No: WPC/W/72345 Arrochar Sewage Treatment Works, Church Road, Arrochar
a) Treated sewage effluent up to a maximum discharge volume of 1,296 cubic metres per day (15 litres per second) to Loch Long at National Grid Reference NN 293 036 (the existing outfall) from a septic tank serving a population of 1,400 at Arrochar and Tarbet.
b) Screened sewage effluent consisting of flows in excess of the pass forward flow of 15 litres per second, up to a maximum of 30 litres per second, to Loch Long at National Grid Reference NN 293 036, from a combined sewer overflow at the septic tank.
c) Screened sewage effluent up to a maximum flow of 15 litres per second at Loch Long at National Grid Reference NN 293 036, from an emergency overflow at the proposed storm sewage storage tank at Church Road, Arrochar.
Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Registrar, SEPA, SEPA West, 5 Redwood Crescent, Peel Park, East Kilbride G74 5PP, not later than 18 March 2005, quoting reference WPC/W/72345.
