NOTICE OF APPLICATIONS FOR CONSENT IN PURSUANCE OF SECTION 34
Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Section 36(1)(a) of the Control of Pollution Act 1974 (As Amended), that the following applications for consent to discharge have been made to SEPA by Scottish Water:

Up to 3421.44 cubic metres per day of treated sewage effluent from a new sewage treatment works at Lamlash, Isle of Arran to the Firth of Clyde at National Grid Reference NS 0582 3286.

A discharge of screened storm sewage consisting of all flows in excess of a pass forward flow of 26.5 litres per second from a combined sewer overflow at Lamlash Pumping Station Number 1, Lamlash, Isle of Arran to Lamlash Bay at National Grid Reference NS 028 308.
A discharge of screened sewage from an emergency overflow at Lamlash Pumping Station Number 1, Lamlash, Isle of Arran to Lamlash Bay at National Grid Reference NS 028 308.*

A discharge of screened storm sewage consisting of flows in excess of a pass forward flow of 29.4 litres per second from a combined sewer overflow at Lamlash Pumping Station Number 2, Lamlash, Isle of Arran to Lamlash Bay at National Grid Reference NS 032 314.
A discharge of screened sewage from an emergency overflow at Lamlash Pumping Station Number 2, Lamlash, Isle of Arran to Lamlash Bay at National Grid Reference NS 032 314.*

A discharge of screened storm sewage consisting of flows in excess of 39.7 litres per second from a combined sewer overflow at Lamlash Pumping Station Number 3, Lamlash, Isle of Arran to Lamlash Bay at National Grid Reference NS 035 317.
A discharge of screened sewage from an emergency overflow at Lamlash Pumping Station Number 3, Lamlash, Isle of Arran to Lamlash Bay at National Grid Reference NS 035 317.*
*It should be noted that these proposed discharges of sewage are emergency discharges and will only occur in the event of power failure or breakdown of the sewage pumping station.
Any person who wishes to make representations about any of the applications should do so in writing to The Registrar, SEPA, 5 Redwood Crescent, Peel Park, East Kilbride G74 5PP not later than 9 August 2005 quoting the appropriate reference number.
Copies of the applications may be inspected free of charge at SEPA at the above address at all reasonable hours and by prior arrangement at the local SEPA office at 31 Miller Road, Ayr (01292 294000). It may also be inspected at North Ayrshire Council Offices, Shore Road, Lamlash.
