Notice is hereby given that Taunton Deane Borough Council proposes to make the above Orders under sections 1(1) and 2(1) to (3), 4(2), sections 45 and 53 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be as follows:   (1) to provide a dual purpose bay for the use of taxis between the hours of 7 p.m. and 2 a.m., and service vehicles between the hours of 2 a.m. and 7 p.m. on the north side of Hammet Street from a point approximately 21 metres north-east of the junction with Fore Street in a north-easterly direction for a distance of approximately 19 metres;   (2) to provide parking for disabled persons on the north side of Hammet Street from a point approximately 40 metres north-east of the junction with Fore Street in a north-easterly direction for a distance of approximately 53 metres; and   (3) to introduce no waiting and no loading/unloading at any time:       (a) on the south side of Hammet Street from the junction with Fore Street for its entire length;       (b) on the north side of Hammet Street for a distance of approximately 21 metres from the junction with Fore Street and from a point approximately 93 metres from the junction with Fore Street to its junction with Church Square;       (c) on the north side of Hammett Street approximately 40 metres from the junction with Fore Street in a north-easterly direction for a distance of approximately 53 metres;       (d) on the west side of Church Square from the junction with Hammett Street;           (i) southward for a distance of approximately 15 metres;           (ii) northward for a distance of approximately 6 metres.   Full details of the proposals are in the draft Orders which, together with the map showing the location of the roads and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected at The Deane House, Belvedere Road, Taunton, during normal office hours.   If you wish to object to the proposed Order, or make representations in support of the proposals, you should send your grounds, in writing, to reach the undersigned by 13th February 1998.
