The A45 Trunk Road (Packington Crossroads Junction Improvement Side Roads) Order 19

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that he proposes to make the following Orders:   An Order under sections 10 and 41 of the Highways Act 1980, which will provide that two routes for slip roads which he proposes to construct to connect the A45 Trunk Road with Maxstoke Lane C15 at Meriden in the county of Warwickshire, shall become trunk roads from the date when the Order comes into force. The routes are from a point on the existing junction of Maxstoke Lane and the A45 for a distance of 180 metres eastwards, to a point on the A45, 130 metres south of Old Hall Farm; and from a point on the A45, 320 metres north of The Firs for a distance of 170 metres westwards, to a point on the diverted Maxstoke Lane C15 (15 metres west of the existing Maxstoke Lane/A45 junction).   An Order under sections 12, 14 and 125 of the Highways Act 1980, in relation to the A45 Trunk Road and the new Trunk Roads to be constructed by him at Meriden in the Metropolitan Borough of Solihull and the county of Warwickshire, which will:   (1) authorise him to:     (a) improve highways,     (b) stop up highways,     (c) construct new highways,     (d) stop up private means of access to premises, and     (e) provide new private means of access to premises,   all at Meriden in the said Metropolitan Borough and County; and   (2) provide for the transfer of each new highway to the highway authority specified for it in the Order as from the date on which he notifies them that it has been completed and is open for traffic.   Copies of each draft Order and the plans referred to in them, and of the environmental statement which the Secretary of State has published in relation to the construction of the new highways and the improvement of existing highways referred to in the draft Orders, may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours from 20th February 1998 until 17th April 1998, or within 8 weeks from the date of first publication of this notice if that period expires later, at the Highways Agency, Room 12/08, St. Christopher House, Southwark Street, London SE1 0TE; the Highways Agency, Broadway, Broad Street, Birmingham B15 1BL; Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council, PO Box 19, Council House, Solihull, West Midlands B91 3QT; Warwickshire County Council, PO Box 43, Shire Hall, Warwick CV34 4SX, and at Meriden Library, The Cottage, The Green, Meriden CV7 7LN.   Any person may object to the making of these Orders not later than 17th April 1998, or within 8 weeks of the first publication of this notice if that period expires later, by notice to the Secretary of State at the Highways Agency, Broadway, Broad Street, Birmingham B15 1BL, quoting Ref. MOD/0/A45/9/11/94/1/1, and stating the grounds of objection. In the preparation of any objection and the statement of grounds of objection, it should be borne in mind that the substance of any objection or representation may be communicated to other people who may be affected by it.
