Stopping-up of a Highway at Heywood, near Rochdale

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that on the application of Wilkinson Hindle Halsall Lloyd Partnership, on behalf of West Pennine Housing Association, he has made an Order under section 247 of the above Act entitled “The Stopping-up of Highways (Metropolitan Borough of Rochdale) (No. 3) Order 1998” authorising the stopping-up of an unnamed highway off Wolsey Street, Heywood, from its junction with the northerly side of Wolsey Street, north eastwards for 65 metres.   Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, on application to the Government Office for the North West (Transport), Sunley Tower, Piccadilly Plaza, Manchester M1 4BE (quoting Ref. GO/TNW 5084/35/1/41), and may be inspected at all reasonable hours at the offices of Rochdale Metropolitan Borough Council, Town Hall, Rochdale, and at the Heywood Information Centre, Hindhill Street, Heywood.   Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the above Act or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within 6 weeks of 18th June 1998, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provision contained therein.
