DECLARATION OF NATIONAL NATURE RESERVE
PARISHES OF HOLME AND BURTON IN KENDAL, COUNTY OF CUMBRIA
Notice is hereby given, in pursuance of section 19 of the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949 and section 35 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, that by the Clawthorpe Fell National Nature Reserve No 2 Declaration 2004, made on 12 July 2004, English Nature declared that the land containing 2.23 hectares or thereabouts situated in the parishes of Holme and Burton in Kendal, in the county of Cumbria and shown single hatched and shaded yellow on the plan attached to the said Declaration, is being held by English Nature and managed as a nature reserve. This declaration is additional to the land previously declared, which is shown unhatched and shaded yellow on the attached map. Notice is hereby given, in pursuance of section 19 of the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949 and section 35 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, that by the Clawthorpe Fell National Nature Reserve No 2 Declaration 2004, made on 12 July 2004, English Nature declared that the land containing 5.29 hectares or thereabouts situated in the Parishes of Holme and Burton in Kendal, in the County of Cumbria and shown cross-hatched and shaded yellow on the plan to the said Declaration (which land was included in the Clawthorpe Fell Nature Reserve No 1 Declaration 1976, made by the Nature Conservancy Council on 4 May 1976), has ceased to be held by English Nature and to be managed as a nature reserve. Certified copies of the Clawthorpe Fell National Nature Reserve No 2 Declaration 2004 have been deposited for public inspection, free of charge, during normal office hours at the offices of Cumbria County Council, South Lakeland District Council, Kendal and Kirkby Lonsdale libraries and at the offices of English Nature at Northminster House, Peterborough and Murley Moss, Kendal.
