APPEAL UNDER THE WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981
Appeal under section 28F(1) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, as amended by
the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000, against the refusal of consent by English
Nature on 7 January 2005, relating to land notified as Site of Special Scientific
Interest (SSSI) at Sandford, Wareham, Dorset.
Notice is hereby given that an Inspector, appointed by the Secretary of State for
Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, will hold an inquiry into this appeal against
the refusal of consent by English Nature to permit the development of a Christmas
tree nursery on land forming part of Holton and Sandford Heaths SSSI, which forms
part of the Dorset Heaths Special Area of Conservation and Dorset Heathlands Special
Protection Area and Ramsar site.
The inquiry will commence at the Council Chamber, Swanage Town Hall, High Street,
Swanage BH19 9NZ, on Wednesday 12 October 2005, at 10.00 am.
Interested persons may attend this inquiry. If you wish to submit written representations
