NOTICE OF PROPOSED COAST PROTECTION WORK

The West Dorset District Council, acting in their capacity as coast protection authority, hereby give notice under section 5(1) of the above Act that they propose to carry out coast protection work at Seatown, Dorset.

The scheme comprises additional rock being placed onto the existing rock armour structure extending over a length of about one hundred metres at the toe of the coastal slope, counterfort land drainage remedial work and the extension of the rock armour protection by approximately 15 metres to the west.

The estimated cost of the work is £57,000 (fifty seven thousand pounds.)

Details of the work proposed as well as copies of the relevant shoreline management plan can be inspected at West Dorset District Council offices at 58-60 High West Street, Dorchester, Dorset DT1 1UZ, from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm, Monday to Friday.

Any person within 28 days of this notice can serve a notice of objection to the proposal on the Secretary of State and on the Council.

Any such notice must contain a statement of the grounds of objection and must be delivered to or sent by post, fax or e-mail to the Secretary of State and to the Chief Executive of the Council.
