The Croydon (On-Street Parking Places) (No. 2) Traffic Order 1997 The Croydon (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Amendment No. 19) Order 1997

Notice is hereby given that the London Borough of Croydon on 29th December 1997, made the above-mentioned Orders under the powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985.   The general effect of the Croydon (On-Street Parking Places) (No. 2) Traffic Order 1997, will be:   (a) to designate parking places in the lengths of Station Approach, East Croydon, specified in the Schedule to this notice, at which charges may be made by the Council for the leaving of vehicles authorised by this Order;   (b) to specify that passenger vehicles (with 12 seats or less), goods carrying vehicles, motor cycles and invalid carriages might be left in the parking places provided;   (c) to specify that the parking places will be in operation at any time throughout the week and will be controlled by means of “pay and display” parking with payment to a ticket parking meter;   (d) to provide that at the parking places situated on the highway specified, the charge for leaving a vehicle will vary from 10p for 15 minutes up to 20p (maximum) for thirty minutes (maximum) with no return for an hour.   The general effect of the Croydon (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Amendment No. 19) Order 1997 would be to further amend the Croydon (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order 1991, so that waiting and loading would be prohibited at any time throughout the week in Station Approach, East Croydon.   A copy of the Order, which will come into operation on 5th January 1998, of the Croydon (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order 1991 (and of any Order which has previously amended that Order), can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, until the end of 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made at the Enquiry Counter, “One Stop” Facility, Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon, Surrey.   Copies of the Order may be obtained from the Traffic and Highways Section of the Public Services and Works Department, Room 4.06, Municipal Offices, Fell Road, Croydon.   Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof, or of any relevant regulations made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court. Station Approach, East Croydon   (a) the north-east side of the south-western island site, from a point 1 metre south-east of its north-westernmost extremity to a point 8 metres north-west of its south-easternmost extremity;   (b) the south-west side of the north-eastern island site, from a point 1 metre south-east of its north-westernmost extremity to a point 4 metres north-west of its south-easternmost extremity. 30th December 1997.
