The London Borough of Southwark (Parking Places) (Amendment No. 1) Traffic Order 1998

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Southwark, on 22nd January 1998, made the above-mentioned Order, under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985 and the Road Traffic Act 1991. The Notice of Proposals were first published in the London Gazette on 2nd October 1997, issue number 54908 (ref. 496).   The general effect of the Order is to provide that occupants of the following buildings are not classed as residents for the purposes of the Parking Places Orders and will not be eligible to apply for residents parking permits: (a) 165 Great Dover Street, S.E.1; and (b) McLaren House, 1 St. Georges Circus, S.E.1.   A copy of the Order, which will come into operation on 30th January 1998, the Southwark (Parking Places) (No. 1) & (No. 2) Orders 1987 and of a plan can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of a period of 6 weeks from the date on which this notice was published in the Council Offices, Chiltern House, Portland Street, London SE17 2ES.   Further information can be obtained from Mary Toffi, Southwark Regeneration & Environment Department (Traffic Group), Council Offices, Chiltern House, Portland Street, London SE17 2ES, telephone: 0171-525 5459.   Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within 6 weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
