LONDON BOROUGH OF CROYDON
The Croydon (Prescribed Routes) (No. 1) Traffic Order 1998

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Croydon made the above-mentioned Order under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985.   2. The general effect of the Order will be to prohibit any motor vehicle from entering Limes Road at its junctions with Northcote Road and Whitehorse Road.   3. The prohibition referred to in paragraph 2 above would not apply in relation to a pedal cycle.   4. The prohibition and restriction referred to in paragraph 2 above will not apply to:   (a) a vehicle being used for ambulance, fire brigade or police purposes;   (b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform; or   (c) anything done in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on a highway by or on behalf of the Metropolitan Police.   5. A copy of the Order which will come into operation on 2nd February 1998, can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, until the end of 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, at the Enquiry Counter, “One Stop” Facility, Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon, Surrey.   6. Copies of the Order may be obtained from the Traffic and Highways Division, Public Services and Works Department, Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon.   7. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application to the High Court.
