LONDON BOROUGH OF BEXLEY
The Bexley Bus Stop Clearway (No Stopping Except Buses) (Amendment No. ) Traffic Order 199 

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Bexley propose to make the above-mentioned Order under sections 6, 7(1) and 12A of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by section 8 of and Part I of Schedule 5 to the Local Government Act 1985.
  2. The Bexley Bus Stop Clearway (No Stopping Except Buses) (Amendment No. ) Traffic Order 199  would prohibit the stopping of any vehicle, except buses and taxis, on any of the marked bus stop areas in Crayford High Street.
  3. The prohibitions referred to in paragraph 2 above would not apply in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a parking attendant, traffic warden, or police constable in uniform, or in certain circumstances, e.g. the picking up or setting down of passengers; the carrying out of statutory powers or duties; the taking in of petrol etc. The usual exemption relating to vehicles displaying a disabled person’s “Orange Badge” would apply.
  4. A copy of the proposed Order, of the Bexley Bus Stop Clearway (No Stopping Except Buses) Traffic Order 1997 (and the Orders that have amended that Order), the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order and of the maps which indicate each length of road to which the Order relates, can be inspected from the date this notice is published during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive in (a) The Information Centre, Bexley Civic Centre, Broadway, Bexleyheath, Kent DA6 7LB; and (b) Crayford Library, Crayford Road, Crayford, during the normal opening hours of the Library.
  5. Persons desiring to object to the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of their objections and the grounds thereof, to the Chief Engineer, London Borough of Bexley, Bexley Civic Offices, Broadway, Bexleyheath, Kent DA6 7LB, within a period of 21 days from the date this notice is published.
  6. Persons objecting to the proposed Order should be aware that in view of the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, this Council would be legally obliged to make any comments received to this notice, open to public inspection.
