Stopping-Up of Highways at Burnley

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that on the application of Modus Consulting Engineers on behalf of Great Portland Estates, and following the holding of a public inquiry, he has made an Order under section 247 of the above Act entitled “The Stopping-Up of Highways (Borough of Burnley) (No. 1) Order 1998” authorising the stopping-up of Brun Street, an unnamed highway running between Curzon Street and Bethesda Street, and parts of Curzon Street and Brick Street, Burnley.   Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, on application to the Government Office for the North West (Transport), Sunley Tower, Piccadilly Plaza, Manchester M1 4BE (quoting Ref. GO/TNW 5288/35/1/015) and may be inspected at all reasonable hours at the offices of Burnley Borough Council, Town Hall, Manchester Road, Burnley.   Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the above Act or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks of 19th June 1998 apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provision contained therein.
