Lichfield Gateway Conservation Area

Notice is hereby given that Lichfield District Council under powers conferred on them by section 69 of the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990, have designated, as a Conservation Area, land at Beacon Street, in the City of Lichfield, from its junction with Netherbeacon and Greenhough Road to its junction with Pinfold Road which is shown within the continuous black boundary line on the designation map.   The effect of the designation is that:   (a) Any application for planning permission for development of land which would, in the opinion of the Local Planning Authority, affect the character or appearance of the Conservation Area, must be given publicity under sections 67 and 73 of the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990.   (b) Any person wishing to demolish the whole or part of a building, or cut down, top, lop, uproot or wilfully damage or destroy any tree within the Conservation Area must (subject to certain exemptions) first apply for consent from the Local Planning Authority or, in the case of trees, give the authority 6 weeks notice of the proposed action.   A copy of the designation map may be inspected at the offices of the Head of Administration Services, Lichfield District Council, District Council House, Frog Lane, Lichfield, between the hours of 8.45 a.m. and 5.15 p.m. Mondays to Fridays inclusive.
