Urban Waste Water Treatment Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1995 (as amended)

In accordance with regulation 3A of the above Regulations, notice is hereby given that the following waters are to be identified as sensitive areas from 28th July 2006. These identifications are to be added to the existing list of sensitive areas.

The new identifications are as follows:

Freshwater

The freshwater Foyle catchment; the Roe catchment; the Faughan catchment; the River Lagan catchment; the Lower Bann catchment; the Enler catchment; the Bush catchment; and the Newry River catchment.

Coastal

The north end of Strangford Lough bounded by the co-ordinates 54;° 30'; 26";N 5° 37'; 02";W, 54° 30'; 40";N 5° 33'; 05";W.

Newcastle bathing water and Ardmillan shellfish water.

Maps of the identifications are available electronically on the Department of the Environment, Environment and Heritage Service (EHS) website by clicking on the relevant headline in the “Latest News” box on the Homepage of the EHS website http://www.ehsni.gov.uk/. The maps may be inspected, free of charge, at EHS offices, 17 Antrim Road, Lisburn, BT28 3AL 9.30 am to 4.30 pm on working days.
