Notice is hereby given that the Lord Chancellor has made the following order in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 2(2)(a) and 19 (4)(a) of the Justice (Northern Ireland) Act 2002 and (in relation to section 2(2)(a)) with the agreement of the Lord Chief Justice.

The Justice (Northern Ireland) Act 2002 (Addition of Listed Judicial Offices etc.) Order 2006 [SR 2006 No. 469]

This Order amends the Justice (Northern Ireland) Act 2002 (c.26) to add the offices of President and Member of the Northern Ireland Valuation Tribunal to:—

(a)	the list of judicial offices in Schedule 1 to which appointments are subject to selection by the Northern Ireland Judicial Appointments Commission; and
(b)	the list of judicial office holders in Schedule 6 required to take the judicial oath.

The Northern Ireland Valuation Tribunal is established by Article 36A of and Schedule 9B to the Rates (Northern Ireland) Order 1977 (S.I. 1977/2157 N.I.28) as amended by Article 29 of and Schedule 1 to the Rates (Amendment) (Northern Ireland) Order 2006 (S.I. 2006/2954 N.I.18).

This Order (except for Rule 3 which comes into operation on 1st April 2007) will come into operation on 18 th December 2006
