Cancellation of Conservation Area

In according with Section 62 of the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) (Scotland) Act 1997, The Fife Council as Local Planning Authority, hereby given notice that the area described in the Schedule has been de-designated and cancelled as a Conservation Area, being an area of special architectural historic interest, the particular character or appearance of which the Council considers it desirable to preserve or enhance.

Copies of the maps of the area and street indexes are available for inspection within the Office of the Service Manager Planning (East), Fife Council, County Buildings, St Catherine Street, Cupar, Fife.

DESIGNATION

Commencing at a point at the south east corner of the pier and continuing thereafter along the southern and eastern side of the pier to the point where it meets the shore; thence east along the southern boundary of Braehead Cottage, The Toft; thence south west for some 42 metres along the HWMOST; thence north east for some 20 metres to a point on the centre line of the track leading from the Wadeslea to the shore; thence north west along the centre line of the said track until the point where it meets Wadeslea; thence south west along the centre line of Wadeslea to the point where it meets Admiralty Lane, thence continuing north-west along the eastern boundaries of Dalmore, Seafield Bank and Numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 all The Toft to the point where they meet the boundary of lands belonging to Hycroft, the Toft, thence north east along the northern boundaries of subjects lying to the west of Numbers 7 and 8 Wadeslea, Numbers 7 and 8 Wadeslea and subjects lying to the east of Numbers 7 and 8 Wadeslea to a point on the eastern edge of Wadeslea; thence north-west along the said edge; thence north east along the southern boundary of subjects lying to the east of Wadeslea to a point where it meets the western boundary of Wadeslea Cottage; thence north west along the eastern boundary of Wadeslea House and continuing across High Street; thence north west along the southern boundary of the disused railway, thence south west along the centre line of North Street to the point where it meets Woodside Place; thence north along the centre line of Woodside Place for some 10 metres; thence west along the northern boundary of lands belonging to the Hall; thence north and west along the northern boundaries of subjects in Kirkpark Road including Torphichen, Loseberry, Murrayfield and Colombo House, Kirkpark Road to the point where they meet the eastern boundary of Elms Cottage, Park Place, thence north along the eastern boundaries of Elms Cottage, The Elms, Tree Tops, Dunreggan all Park Place to the point where they meet the southern edge of Woodside Road; thence north west along the said edge until the point where it meets Park Place; thence continuing north west across Park Place; thence west and south following the boundary of Elie Primary School; thence south following the western boundaries of Numbers 19 to 42 Park Place; thence west following the northern boundaries of Numbers 9 to 11 Bank Street, The Bank, the Golf Hotel, and the Park, all Bank Street and Claremont, Norwood, Glenmore, Craigievilla, Forrestville, Marionville, Rockcliffe, all Links Place and Malon Park, and Liberty both Liberty; thence south along the western boundary of Liberty to a point on the centre line of Liberty thence along the said centre line to a point opposite the eastern boundary of Mount Stuart, Rotten Row; thence north along the said boundary of Mount Stuart; thence north west along the northern boundaries of Mount Stewart, Inverallan. The Rectory and the Episcopal Church; thence south east along the western boundary of the Episcopal Church; thence west along the northern boundaries of subjects in Rotten Row including Fenover, the Police Station and Airlie to a point on the centre line of Ferry Road; thence south along the said centre line for some 10 metres; thence south west along the northern boundaries of lands belonging to properties fronting the High Street to the point where they meet the western boundary of Scotscraig, High Street; thence northward along the outer edge of the western boundary of Scotscraig to the point where it meets Link Road; thence south west along the northern boundaries of properties on Link Road including Summerlea and View Cottage; thence south-west crossing Allan Place and continuing along the centre line of Links Road to a point opposite the western boundary of Ritchie Cottage; then south east along the western boundary of Ritchie Cottage to the point where it meets the northern boundary of Durham Cottage; thence south west along the northern boundary of properties front the High Street; thence south across the High Street and along the western boundary of Sandford, High Street to the point where it meets the shore; thence continuing along the southern boundaries of properties on the shore crossing Castwell Wynd, Cross Wynd, Ferry Road, Siward Lane to the point where the shoreline meets the HWMOST; thence following the HWMOST to the rear of properties in South Street, The Terrace and The Toft to the point of commencement.
