WREXHAM COUNTY BOROUGH COUNCIL

The County Borough of Wrexham (Public Footpath No. 21 in the Community of Esclusham) (formerly Esclusham Below) (Temporary Prohibition of Pedestrians) Order 1997.

Notice of Temporary Prohibition of Pedestrians Order

Wrexham County Borough Council has made an Order which prohibits any pedestrian from proceeding in that length of Public Footpath No. 21 in the Community of Esclusham (formerly Esclusham Below) in the County Borough of Wrexham from the west end of the ditch crossing at grid reference 330764 346768 in a generally easterly direction for approximately 31 metres to the east end of the railway footbridge known as footbridge No. 515 at Hafod, at grid reference 330782 346768.   The reason for the closure is because works are being or are being proposed to be executed on or near footbridge No. 515, and because of the likelihood of danger to the public in order to enable Railtrack to undertake major refurbishment works to footbridge No. 515.   The alternative route available for pedestrians will be to proceed from the west of the ditch crossing at grid reference 330764 346768, in a generally westerly direction along Public Footpath No. 21 for approximately 69 metres, then left at grid reference 330696 346767 along Public Footpath No. 24 in a generally south-south-easterly direction for approximately 177 metres to the west end of the pedestrian level crossing, then crossing the railway track in a generally easterly direction for approximately 16 metres to join Public Footpath No. 25 at grid reference 330757 346596, then in a generally northerly direction for approximately 173 metres to the east end of the railway footbridge at grid reference 330782 346768. The alternative route will be signposted accordingly.   This Order will come into force on 10th January 1998. The prohibition will operate for as long as necessary to enable the relevant works to be completed. R.
