Water Resources Act 1991—Schedule 10 (as amended by the Environment Act 1995)

Notice of application for consent for the purposes of section 88

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Schedule 10 of the above Act, that an application has been made to the Environment Agency by Severn Trent Water Limited to vary their existing consent to discharge sewage in an emergency from Pinetrees Sewage Pumping Station, Back Lane, Birdingbury, Warwickshire. The Company has applied for consent to discharge the following effluents to the River Leam at OS National Grid Reference SP 4340 6843:   (i) a rainfall dependent volume of storm sewage for flows in excess of 26 litres per second and only at times when a storage capacity of 51 cubic metres has been fully utilised;   (ii) sewage in an emergency and only at times when the storage capacity of 51 cubic metres has been fully utilised. The Pumping Station will be provided with the following:       (a) a duty and standby pump;       (b) telemetric alarms for pump and power failure with high level alarm on wet well;       (c) a facility for connecting a mobile standby generator in the event of electrical failure.   This application is made as part of the Company’s planned programme of improvement work and should be completed by July 1998. Should consent be granted on this application, the existing consent for Pinetrees Sewage Pumping Station will be revoked (cancelled) upon completion of the refurbishment work.   Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Area Consents Officer at the Agency’s offices at Riversmeet House, Newtown Industrial Estate, Northway Lane, Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire GL20 8JG, during the period 8th January to 19th February 1998 inclusive, quoting reference WAV/LS/60690 A.B.   A copy of the application may be inspected, free of charge, during normal office hours at the Agency’s offices at the above address and at Olton Court, 10 Warwick Road, Olton, Solihull, West Midlands B92 7HX.
