The Greenwich (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Amendment No. 42) Order 1998

Notice is hereby given that Greenwich Council, hereinafter called the Council, on 15th January 1998 made the above-mentioned Order under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985 and the Road Traffic Act 1991.   The general effect of the Order, will be to further amend the Greenwich (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order 1994, so that:   (a) waiting restrictions operative between 8 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. on Mondays to Saturdays inclusive would be imposed on the length of street specified in Schedule 1 to this notice;   (b) waiting restrictions operative between 8.30 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. on Mondays to Saturdays inclusive would be imposed on the length of street specified in Schedule 2 to this notice.   Details of exemptions from the restrictions for certain vehicles and persons, together with restrictions on selling or advertising in a restricted street are contained in the original Order of 1994.   A copy of the Order, which will come into operation on 30th January 1998, plans showing the locations and effects of the Order, the Order being amended and the Council’s statement of reasons for making the Order can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, at Development Services, Greenwich Council, Peggy Middleton House, 50 Woolwich New Road, Woolwich SE18 6HQ, for 6 weeks following the date the Order was made and copies of the Order may be obtained from the same address.   Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order, or of any provision contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within 6 weeks of the making of the Order, make application for the purpose to the High Court. Schedule 1

   Colepits Wood Road, between the north-eastern kerb-line of Riefield Road and a point 48 metres north-west of that kerb-line.

Schedule 2

   Court Road, between the south-western kerb-line of Porcupine Close and a point opposite the common boundary of Nos. 268 and 280 Court Road. 15th January 1998.
