Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Hounslow, on 12th January 1998, made the above-mentioned Orders under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985.   The general effect of the Orders will be:   (a) to prohibit vehicles (other than pedal cycles) from entering that length of carriageway of Brainton Avenue which lies between a point 3 metres north-east of the north-eastern kerb-line of Harlington Road East and a point 6 metres north-east of that kerb-line;   (b) to prohibit vehicles (other than fire brigade, ambulance and police vehicles in an emergency and pedal cycles) from entering that length of carriageway which lies betweeen the south-western kerb-line of Harlington Road East and its junction with Kings Road;   (c) to prohibit vehicles entering the gaps in the central reservation of Faggs Road and Hampton Road West as described in Schedule 1 to this notice;   (d) to prohibit vehicles entering the gaps in the service roads of Faggs Road, Harlington Road West and Hampton Road West as described in Schedule 2 to this notice; and   (e) to amend the Hounslow (Prescribed Routes) (No. 5) Traffic Order 1985, which closes Green Man Lane to traffic at its junction with The Causeway so that the present exemption for emergency services vehicles is revoked.   Exemption will be provided in the Orders in respect of anything done:   (i) with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform;   (ii) in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the highway by the Metropolitan Police.   A copy of the Orders, which will come into operation on 19th January 1998, together with a copy of the Order of 1985 and of plans depicting the lengths of road to which the Order relates, can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, until the expiration of a period of 6 weeks from the date on which this notice is published, in the Environmental Services Reception Area at the Civic Centre, Lampton Road, Hounslow TW3 4DN.   Copies of the Orders may be purchased from the Environmental Services Department of the London Borough of Hounslow, Civic Centre, Lampton Road, Hounslow TW3 4DN.   Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders, or of any provision contained therein, on the grounds that they are not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, or that any relevant requirements have not been complied with in relation to the Orders, may, within 6 weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application to the High Court for the purpose. Schedule 1

Closure of gaps in the central reservation of:   1.  Faggs Road, the gap which lies opposite Nos. 112 to 126 Faggs Road;   2.  Hampton Road West:       (i) the gap which lies opposite Nos. 14 and 16 Market Parade, Hampton Road West;       (ii) the gap which lies opposite the junction of Butts Cottages; and       (iii) the gap which lies opposite the junction with York Way.

Schedule 2

Closure of gaps in the service roads of:   1.  Faggs Road, the service road fronting Nos. 42 to 138 Faggs Road, the gap which lies at a point opposite the access between Nos. 116 and 118 and Nos. 118 and 122 Faggs Road.   2.  Harlington Road West, the service road lying between its junction with Becketts Close and its junction with Lansbury Avenue, the gap which lies at a point opposite Nos. 70 and 72 Harlington Road West.   3.  Hampton Road West, the service road fronting Nos. 162 to 216 Hampton Road West, the gap which lies at a point opposite Nos. 208 to 212 Hampton Road West. 14th January 1998.
