The Stopping-up of Highways (County of Essex) (No. 1) Order 1998

The Secretary of State for Transport hereby gives notice that, on the application of D. Lewis, he has made an Order under Section 247 of the above Act entitled “The Stopping-up Highways (County of Essex) (No. 1) Order 1998” authorising the stopping-up of highway land at 2 Bedford Close, Rayleigh, Essex, to enable development consisting of the change of use from highway to private garden to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission granted under Part III of the Act to D. Lewis by Rochford District Council on 24th April 1997, under Ref. CU/0080/97/ROC.   Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, on application to the Government Office for Eastern Region (Planning and Transport), Heron House, 49-53 Goldington Road, Bedford MK40 3LL (quoting GT/B1550/35/1/28) and may be inspected at all reasonable hours at the offices of Rochford, Essex SS14 1BW, and at the address of B. McKanna, the Clerk to Rayleigh Town Council, Civic Suite, Hockley Road, Essex.   Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the above Act or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks of the 15th January 1998, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provision contained therein.
