The City of Westminster (Parking Places) (No. 1) Order 1998 The City of Westminster (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Amendment No. 539) Order 1998

Notice is hereby given that the Westminster City Council, on 14th January 1998, made the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985.   The general effect of the Parking Places Order will be to redesignate residents’ parking places in Adpar Street.   In respect of the parking places, the classes of vehicles for which they will be available, the hours during which they will operate, the charge for their use (where applicable) and all the time limits during which vehicles may be left in the parking places will remain unchanged.   The general effect of the Waiting and Loading Restriction Amendment Order will be to futher amend the City of Westminster (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order 1976, so that in the length of Adpar Street specified in the Schedule to this notice, the hours during which the existing prohibition applies on:   (i) waiting by vehicles (otherwise than for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle) would be changed so that it will apply “at any time”;   (ii) waiting by vehicles for more than 20 minutes in the same place for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle will apply between 11 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. throughout the week.   The Orders, and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order, are available for inspection between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays inclusive at Hyder Consulting Ltd., Third Floor, 29 Bressenden Place, London SW1E 5DZ, until 25th February 1998.   The Parking Places Order will come into force for the purposes of the placing of traffic signs etc. on 17th January 1998, and for all other purposes on 19th January 1998. The Waiting and Loading Restriction Order will come into force on 19th January 1998.   Any person desiring to question the validity of either of the Orders, or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof, or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to either of the Orders, may make application for the purpose to the High Court by 25th February 1998.
