Proposed works on Chobham Common, Parish of Chobham, Surrey

Notice is hereby given that an Inspector appointed by the Secretary of State for the Environment, will attend at Bishop David Brown School, Albert Drive, Sheerwater, Woking, Surrey, on Tuesday, 17th February 1998, to hold a public local inquiry into an application by Surrey County Council for consent under section 194 of the Law of Property Act 1925, to the erection of approximately 4,165 metres of stock proof fencing, with appropriate access points on Chobham Common, for a period of seven years. The inquiry will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, 17th February 1998, and an evening session will be held at the above-mentioned venue at 6.30 p.m. on that date. It is desirable that all persons interested should attend the public inquiry. Any person desirous of being heard on the subject matter of the application, whether considered in relation to the benefit of the neighbourhood or to private interests, may, at the discretion of the Inspector, give evidence at the inquiry or may arrange for someone to do so on his behalf on the date mentioned above.   Copies of the application by Surrey County Council, the applicant’s statement in support of the application and a plan showing the common land affected and details of the proposals, will be available for inspection at the main reception desk of the Surrey County Council Offices, West House, Merrow Lane, Guildford, Surrey, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. from Monday to Friday (Public Holidays excepted), during the three weeks preceding the public inquiry.
