Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990

Notice is hereby given that the Wrexham Borough Council, on 1st December 1997, varied the designation of conservation area in the town of Wrexham in the County Borough, in accordance with section 70 of the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990.   The area concerned includes the whole of Bath Road, Belgrave Road, Fairy Road and Belmont Road and parts of Erddig Road, Fairfield Street, Hillbury Road, Ruabon Road, Percy Road, Sontley Road, Victoria Road, Wellington Road and Talbot Court.   A plan showing the precise boundaries of the area may be inspected at the Guildhall, Wrexham, or at the office of the Chief Planning Officer, Lambpit Street, Wrexham, during normal office hours.   By virtue of the variation of the designation of the conservation area, buildings within the area (except for specified exceptions in respect of certain types of building) may not be demolished without the consent of the County Borough Council or the Secretary of State for Wales and there are also provisions which apply for the preservation of trees within the conservation area. Special procedures may also need to be followed in respect of applications for planning permission for development of land within the conservation area.
