TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990

The Secretary of State for Transport hereby gives notice that he proposes to make an Order under section 247 of the above Act, which will authorise the stopping-up of two areas of highway land at a cul-de-sac forming the south end of Pusey Lane, and an associated footpath linking to St. John Street, Oxford, in the county of Oxfordshire.   If the Order is made, the stopping-up will be authorised only in order to enable the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission granted to Mr. P. M. R. Hill on behalf of Chancellor, Masters and Scholars of University of Oxford, by Oxford City Council, on 20th June 1997, under Ref. 97/00209/NFH.   Copies of the draft Order and relevant plan may be inspected at all reasonable hours during the 28 days commencing on 23rd January 1998, at the offices of Oxford City Council, Clarendon House, 52 Commarket Street, Oxford OX1 3HD, and may be obtained free of charge from the Government Office for the South East, Head of Transport West (quoting Ref. GOSE/ 029/001/OXON/012) at the address above.   During the above-mentioned period of 28 days anyone may object to the making of the Order by writing to the Secretary of State, quoting Ref. GOSE/029/001/OXON/012, and addressing their objection to the Head of Transport West, Government Office for the South East, Bridge House, 1 Walnut Tree Close, Guildford, Surrey GU1 4GA. In the preparation of an objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of any objection may be communicated to the applicant and other people who may be affected by it.   General enquiries relating to this notice may be made in writing to Abraham Raidan, at the Government Office for the South East at the address stated above or by telephoning 01483-882414.
