Notice is hereby given that Greenwich Council, hereinafter called the Council, on 29th January 1998, made the above-mentioned Orders under sections 9 and 124 of and Part IV to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985, and the Road Traffic Act 1991.   2. The general effect of the Bus Lane Order will be to designate a Bus Lane on the length of Shooters Hill specified in Schedule 1 to this notice, operative between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Mondays to Fridays inclusive.   3. The general effect of the Bus Stop Clearway Order will be to amend the Greenwich (Bus Stop Clearway) Traffic Order 1997 by designating Bus Stop Clearways, operative at any time, on the lengths of Shooters Hill specified in Schedule 2 to this notice.   4. The general effect of the Waiting and Loading Order will be to amend the Greenwich (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order 1994, so as to provide:   (a) waiting restrictions:       (i) operative at any time on the lengths of Shooters Hill specified in Schedule 3 to this notice;       (ii) operative between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Mondays to Fridays on the lengths of Shooters Hill specified in Schedule 4 to this notice;   (b) loading restrictions:       (i) operative at any time on the lengths of Shooters Hill specified in Schedule 5 to this notice;       (ii) operative between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. and between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays on the lengths of Shooters Hill specified in Schedule 6 to this notice;       (iii) operative between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Mondays to Fridays on the lengths of Shooters Hill specified in Schedule 7 to this notice.   5. The Orders provide that in pursuance of section 10(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Director of Development for the time being or some person authorised in that behalf by him, may, if it appears to him or that person essential in the interests of the expeditious, convenient and safe movement of traffic or for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which any road affected by the Orders run, modify or suspend the Orders or any provisions thereof.   6. Persons having a query concerning the scheme should contact the Development and Traffic Group on 0181-854 8888, exts. 5577 or 5578.   7. Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on 5th February 1998, of the Orders being amended, of the Council’s statement of reasons for making the Orders, together with a plan showing the locations and effect of the Orders can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, at the Greenwich Engineering and Property Management Department, Peggy Middleton House, 50 Woolwich New Road, Woolwich SE18 6HQ, and copies of the Orders may be obtained from that address.   8. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within 6 weeks of the making of the Orders, make application for the purposes to the High Court.   9. If the provisions of the Orders continue in operation for a period of not less than 6 months, the Council will consider in due course whether the provisions of the Orders should be reproduced and continued in force indefinitely by means of Orders under section 6 of the said Act of 1984.   10. Any person desiring to object to the making of the Orders under that section for the purposes of such reproduction and continuation in force may, within 6 months from the operational date of the Orders, send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Director of Development at the address shown in paragraph 6 above.   11. Persons objecting to the proposed Orders should be aware that in view of the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, this Council would be legally obliged to make any comments received in response to this notice, open to public inspection. Schedule 1

   Shooters Hill, the south-west side, between a point opposite the north-western kerb-line of Red Lion Lane and a point 67 metres south-east of the south-eastern kerb-line of Well Hall Road.

Schedule 2

  Shooters Hill:   (a) the north-east side, from a point 59.50 metres north-west of the north-western kerb-line of Red Lion Lane extending north-westward for a distance of 29 metres;   (b) the south-west side, from a point 2 metres south-east of a point opposite the party wall of Nos. 33 b and 33 c Shooters Hill extending south-eastward for a distance of 25 metres.

Schedule 3

  Shooters Hill, the north-east side, between a point opposite the common boundary of the Old Fire Station and No. 14 Eltham Common Bungalows and a point 10 metres south-east of the south-eastern kerb-line of Red Lion Lane.

Schedule 4

   Shooters Hill, the south-west side, between a point opposite the common boundary of the Old Fire Station and No. 14 Eltham Common Bungalows and a point 2 metres south-east of a point opposite the party wall of Nos. 33 b and 33 c Shooters Hill.

Schedule 5

   Shooters Hill:   (a) the north-east side:       (i) between a point opposite the common boundary of the Old Fire Station and No. 14 Eltham Common Bungalows and a point 53 metres north-west of the north-western kerb-line of Red Lion Lane;       (ii) between a point 23 metres north-west of the north-western kerb-line of Red Lion Lane and a point 10 metres south-east of the south-eastern kerb-line of Red Lion Lane;   (b) the south-west side, between a point opposite the common boundary of the Old Fire Station and No. 14 Eltham Common Bungalows and a point opposite the north-western kerb-line of Red Lion Lane.

Schedule 6

   Shooters Hill, the north-east side, between a point 53 metres north-west of the north-western kerb-line of Red Lion Lane and a point 23 metres north-west of that kerb-line.

Schedule 7

   Shooters Hill, the south-west side, between a point opposite the common boundary of the Old Fire Station and No. 14 Eltham Common Bungalows and a point opposite the north-western kerb-line of Red Lion Lane. 29th January 1998.
