LONDON BOROUGH OF ISLINGTON

The London Borough of Islington (Bus Stop Clearway) (No. 1) Traffic Management Order 1998, relating to Blackstock Road, Highbury Park, Highbury Grove and Kings Cross Bridge. Notice is hereby given that the Islington Borough Council proposes to make the above-mentioned Order under sections 6 and 7(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984(a) and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, and after consultation with the Commissioner of Police for the Metropolis, in accordance with paragraph 20(1) of Schedule 9 to that Act.   The general effect of the Order will be to designate certain sections of the streets named above as Bus Stop Clearways and will, with certain restrictions set out in the Order, prohibit most vehicles, except buses, from stopping in the Bus Stop Clearways at any time.   A copy of the proposed Order, copies of the maps which indicate the length of highway to which the Order relates and a copy of the Council’s statement of reasons for making the Order may be inspected during normal office hours, Mondays to Fridays at The Legal Department, Town Hall, Upper Street, London N.1. (Please ask for reference LE/C/HGF).   Any person desiring to object to the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of his or her objection, and the grounds thereof, to the Head of Law and Public Services, Town Hall, Upper Street, London N1 2UD, quoting the above reference not later than 21 days from the date of this Notice.
