The A420 Trunk Road (Majors Road Junction) (Side Roads) Order 199

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, hereby gives notice that he proposes to make the following Orders:
  An Order under sections 10 and 41 of the Highways Act 1980, entitled the A420 Trunk Road (Majors Road Junction) Order 199 , which will provide that roads which he proposes to construct along the following routes shall become trunk roads from the date when the Order comes into force.

  132 metres of highway forming a new roundabout, at the northern end of the Shrivenham Bypass on the A420 Trunk Road, together with western and north-eastern approaches to the roundabout, 18 metres and 12 metres in length respectively.

  An Order under sections 12 and 14 of the Highways Act 1980, in relation to the A420 Trunk Road and the new trunk road to be constructed by him at the northern end of the Shrivenham Bypass in the county of Oxfordshire. The Order is entitled the A420 Trunk Road (Majors Road Junction) (Side Roads) Order 199, and will authorise him to:

  (a) improve highways;
  (b) stop-up highways; and
  (c) construct new highways

all in the vicinity of the new road, and provide for the transfer of each new highway to the County Council of Oxfordshire as highway authority as from the date on which he notifies them that it has been completed and is open to traffic.
  Copies of each draft Order and the plans they refer to may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours from 27th February 1998, until 13th April 1998, or within 6 weeks from the date of first publication of this notice if that period expires later, at the offices of the Highways Agency, Room 5/46A, St. Christopher House, Southwark Street, London SE1 0TE; the Highways Agency, Room 4/14, Tollgate House, Houlton Street, Bristol BS2 9DJ; Oxfordshire County Council, Environmental Services, Speedwell House, Speedwell Street, Oxford OX1 1NE; the Engineer and Surveyor, Vale of White Horse District Council, Abbey House, PO Box 127, Abbey Close, Abingdon, Oxfordshire OX14 3JE; Watchfield Parish Council, Mrs. Rhodes, Clerk to the Parish, 10 Charlbury Road, Shrivenham, Oxfordshire SN6 8EQ; and Watchfield Post Office, 110 High Street, Watchfield, Oxfordshire.
  Any person may object to the making of these Orders not later than 13th April 1998, or within 6 weeks from the date of the first publication of this notice if that period expires later, by notice to the Secretary of State at the offices of the Highways Agency, Room 503, Tollgate House, Houlton Street, Bristol BS2 9DJ, quoting Ref. HA/PS/278/999, and stating the grounds of objection. In the preparation of an objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of any objection or representation may be communicated to other people who may be affected by it.
