Notice of Deposit of Proposals for the Replacement of a Local Plan, Easington District Local Plan—Review Deposit Plan

Notice is hereby given that Easington District Council have prepared proposals for the replacement of the above plan. If, and when, these plan proposals are adopted they will form part of the development plan for Easington District. The development plan forms the basis for decisions on land use planning affecting that area.   Copies of the proposals are available for public inspection, free of charge, at Planning Reception, Easington District Council Offices, Seaside Lane, Easington, between 8.30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Thursday, and 8.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. on Fridays; District Council Area Housing Offices, 24 Queensbury Road, Deneside, Seaham; 48 Parkside Crescent, Parkside, Seaham and 26 Crawford Avenue, Edenhill, Peterlee, between 9 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. The following Town and Parish Council offices during normal office opening hours: Seaham Town Council, Civic Offices, 4 Adelaide Row, Seaham; Peterlee Town Council, Shotton Hall, Old Shotton, Peterlee; Easington Village Parish Council, Seaton Holme, Easington Village; Horden Parish Council, Council Offices, Horden Social Centre, Seventh Street, Horden, Settlement Renewal offices, at Crawlaw Lodge, Crawlaw Road, Easington Colliery and Beethoven House, Durham Place, Church Street, Murton, between 9 a.m. and 3.30 p.m., Monday to Friday; and libraries and mobile libraries throughout Easington District.   Objections to, and representations in respect of the proposals should be sent in writing to Gerry Carpenter, Head of Local Plans, Easington District Council, Seaside Lane, Easington, Peterlee, Country Durham SR8 3TN, by 5 p.m., Monday, 27th April 1998. Objections and representations should specify the matters to which they relate and the grounds on which they are made. The may also be accompanied by a request to be notified at a specified address of the withdrawal, adoption, approval or rejection of the proposals.   Only objectors whose objections are made in writing and arrive at the address specified above within the six week period ending on 27th April will have the right to have their objections considered at a local inquiry or hearing.   Further information is available from the Local Plans Unit at Easington District Council, Council Offices, Seaside Lane, Easington SR8 3TN, or by telephoning (0800) 731 7603 (freephone).   If no objections to the proposals are received during the period for making objections, Easington District Council intend to adopt the proposals on the expiry of that period.
