ELLESMERE PORT AND NESTON BOROUGH COUNCIL
The Borough of Ellesmere Port and Neston (20 m.p.h. Speed Limit) (East Neston) Order 1998

Notice is hereby given that on 15th April 1998 the Ellesmere Port and Neston Borough Council (on behalf of Cheshire County Council, pursuant to an agreement under section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972) made the under-mentioned Order under section 84(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of the Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act and with the consent of the Secretary of State in accordance with paragraph 13 of Part II of Schedule 9 to the Act. The effects of which will be as follows:   To make unlawful the driving of a vehicle at a speed exceeding 20 m.p.h. in the under-mentioned length of roads in East Neston:     All roads in the Borough of Ellesmere Port and Neston, within an area bounded by:       (a) Liverpool Road (B5136)       (b) Bidston to Wrexham railway line       (c) Hinderton Road (B5134)       (d) and including Breezehill Road, Gunn Grove, Blackeys Lane, Raby Park Road to and including its junction with Hawkins Road, Sidney Road and Sidney Close.   This Order shall come into operation on 20th April 1998, and may be cited as the Borough of Ellesmere Port and Neston (20 m.p.h. Speed Limit) (East Neston) Order 1998.   Copies of the Orders, maps and statement of reasons for making the Order may be seen at all reasonable hours at the Head of Technical Services Offices, 4th Floor, 4 Civic Way, Ellesmere Port.   Any person who desires to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision therein on the ground that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the ground that any requirement of that Act or any regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within 6 weeks from 16th April 1998 make applicaton to the High Court for this purpose.
