ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
The A63 Trunk Road (Monk Fryston) (Restriction) Order
The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives
notice that he proposes to make an Order under sections 82(2) and 83(1) of the Road
Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The effect of the Order will be that no person shall drive any motor vehicle at
a speed exceeding 30 m.p.h. on a length of the A63 trunk road at Monk Fryston from
the current 30 m.p.h. limit, 90 metres west of its junction with Lumby Lane, for a
distance of 290 metres in a westerly direction towards the A1.
A copy of the proposed Order, the relevant plans, and a statement explaining the
Secretary of State’s reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be inspected during
office hours at the office of North Yorkshire County Council, Highways and Transportation
Department, No. 4 Area Office, Fulford Lodge, Heslington Lane, Fulford, York YO1 4HW.

Any person wishing to object to the Secretary of State’s proposal to make this
Order should send a written statement of the objection and the grounds thereof to
the Director’s address above, quoting HA 28/1/1. This must be received not later than
7th May 1998.
