The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, hereby gives notice that he proposes to make an Order under section 247 of the above Act, which will authorise the stopping-up of three areas of highway land at White Hart Road, adjoining Viviers Fish Market, Portsmouth. If the Order is made, the stopping-up will be authorised only in order to enable the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission granted to HGP Ltd. on behalf of Eric McLeod, of Viviers Ltd., by Portsmouth City Council, on 22nd January 1998, under reference B*20876/AA. Copies of the draft Order and relevant plan may be inspected at all reasonable hours during the 28 days commencing on 22nd April 1998, at the offices of Portsmouth City Council, Civic Information Desk, Civic Offices, Guildhall Square, Portsmouth PO1 2AL, and may be obtained, free of charge, from the Government Office for the South East, Head of Transport West (quoting Ref. GOSE/029/001/PORT/027) at the address below. During the above-mentioned period of 28 days anyone may object to the making of the Order by writing to the Secretary of State, quoting Ref. GOSE/029/001/PORT/027, and addressing their objection to the Head of Transport West, Government Office for the South East, Bridge House, 1 Walnut Tree Close, Guildford, Surrey GU1 4GA. In the preparation of an objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of any objection may be communicated to the applicant and other people who may be affected by it. J.
