Bugbrooke Conservation Area

Notice is given under the Planning (Listed Building and Conservation Areas) Act section 69 that the South Northamptonshire Council, after consultation with Northamptonshire County Council and Bugbrooke Parish Council, has determined on 9th April 1998, to amend the boundary of the existing Bugbrooke Conservaton Area as described in the Schedule to this notice.   For those parts of Bugbrooke not previously in the Conservation Area, the effect of Conservation Area designation is as follows:   (1) Conservation Area consent will be required for the demolition of all unlisted buildings (other than excepted buildings) in the area;   (2) Planning applications for development which would in the opinion of the local planning authority affect the character and appearance of the Conservation Area must be given publicity and representations received as a result of the publicity must be taken into account in determining the application;   (3) It becomes an offence subject to certain exceptions to cut down, top, lop, uproot, wilfully damage or wilfully destroy any tree in the area except with the consent of the local planning authority;   (4) the local planning authoirty are now under a duty to formulate and publish proposals for the preservation and enhancement of the area.   A map of the amended Conservation Area may be inspected, free of charge, during normal office hours at the offices of South Northamptonshire Council (Planning and Development Department), Springfields, Towcester, Northamptonshire NN12 6AE. Schedule

   1. The Conservation Area is extended to include land to the rear of 1 and 3 West End.    2. The Conservation Area is extended to include land to the rear of 63 High Street.    3. To exclude 1 Camp Hill from the Conservation Area.    4. To exclude land to the front of 19 Great Lane.    5. The Conservation Area is extended to include 18 a High Street.    6. The Conservation Area is extended to include a small area of land to the north of the school.    7. To exclude the cricket pavilion and trees to the west from the Conservation Area.    8. To exclude 3 to 11 Badgers Close from the Conservation Area.    9. To exclude 2 and 4 Pilgrims Lane from the Conservation Area.   10. To exclude 4 to 18 Camp Hill from the Conservation Area.   11. The Conservation Area is extended to include Kiln House, Ace Lane; land to the rear of the Baker’s Arms, 32 High Street and land to the rear of Brook Farm House.   12. To exclude land to the north of Church Lane comprising a ridge and furrow field to the west; the Five Bell’s public house; 6, 6 a, 8 and 12 Church Lane and Laddermakers Yard.   13. The Conservation Area is extended to include the garden, paddock and farmyard to the west of the Byre.
