Notice of Deposit of Proposals for a Local Plan

Mendip District Council have prepared proposals for the above plan. If, and when, these plan proposals are adopted they will form part of the development plan for Mendip District. The development plan forms the basis for decisions on land use planning affecting that area.
  Copies of the proposals and other relevant documents are available for public inspection, free of charge, at the following location between 8.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. Monday to Friday: Mendip District Council, Cannards Grave Road, Shepton Mallet, Somerset BA4 5BT, telephone (01749) 343399.
  Objections to, and representations in respect of, the proposals, must be sent in writing to the Planning and Transport Policy Team Leader, Mendip District Council, Cannards Grave Road, Shepton Mallet, Somerset BA4 5BT, before 5 p.m. on Thursday, 2nd July 1998.
  Objections and representations should specify the matters to which they relate and the grounds on which they are made. They may also be accompanied by a request to be notified at a specified address of the withdrawal, adoption, approval or rejection of the proposals.
  Only objectors whose objections are made in writing and arrive at the address specified above within the 6-week period ending on Thursday, 2nd July 1998, at 5 p.m., will have a right to have their objections considered at a local inquiry or hearing.

Notice of Intention to Adopt Proposals:

  If no objections to the proposals are received during the period given for making objections Mendip District Council intend to adopt the proposals on the expiry of that period.
