The Stopping-up of Highways (Scott Road, Wood Street and Park Street, Cardiff) Order 199
The Secretary of State for Wales gives notice that he proposes to make an Order under section 247 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, to authorise the stopping-up of the lengths of highway described in the Schedule 1 to this notice. If the Order is made, the stopping-up will be authorised only in order to enable the development described in Schedule 2 to this notice to be carried out in accordance with planning permission granted by Cardiff County Council on 5th June 1998, under Ref. 98/00537/C. The proposal Order shall cease to have effect upon the cessation of the planning permission. During the 28 days from 15th June 1998 copies of the draft Order and the deposited plan may be inspected, free of charge, during normal office hours at the offices of Cardiff County Council Planning Department, Wood Street, Cardiff, or may be obtained, free of charge, from the address below quoting the Welsh Office reference. Within the above-mentioned period of 28 days any person may, by notice to the Welsh Office Highways Directorate, Cathays Park, Cardiff CF1 3NQ (quoting Ref. ZC 510-5-71-22), object to the making of the Order. In the preparation of an objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of any objection or representation may be communicated to other people who may be affected by it. R. D. All distances are approximate
The lengths of highway to be stopped up are at Cardiff, in the county of Cardiff, and comprise: (i) a 15.5 metre width of the western side of Scott Road (including the footway) running from its junction with Park Street in a southerly direction towards its junction with Wood Street for a distance of 75 metres; (ii) an irregular shaped area of the footway of Wood Street, 65 metres in length with a maximum width of 23 metres and a total area of 809 square metres, running from the south-eastern corner of the former Wales Empire Pool building in a westerly direction towards the River Taff for a distance of 65 metres; and (iii) an irregular shaped area of Park Street (including footway), 15.5 metres in length with a maximum width of 6 metres and a total area of 81 square metres, commencing at the north-eastern corner of the former Wales Empire Pool building and running in an easterly direction for a distance of 15.5 metres.
