TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that he has made an Order under section 247 of the above Act entitled “The Stopping-up of Highways (County of Tyne and Wear) (No. 12) Order 1998” authorising the stopping-up of areas of highway at Town End Farm, Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, to enable the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with planning permission granted to Dent and Partners, acting on behalf of the Director of Health and Housing, City of Sunderland, by the Council of the City of Sunderland on 26th October 1996, under Ref. 96/0871/LAP.   Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, on application to the Secretary of State, at the offices of the Director, Planning, Environment and Transport, at the Government Office for the North East, Wellbar House, Gallowgate, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 4TD, (quoting GO-NE/97/5038/35/04), and may be inspected at all reasonable hours at the offices of the Council of the City of Sunderland, Reception Desk, Third Floor, Administration Department, Civic Centre, Burdon Road, Sunderland SR2 7DN.   Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the above Act or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks of 21st July 1998, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provision contained therein. Schedule

  The planning permission is granted for alterations to existing sub-stations to rear of 4 Bergen Street, and 30 Berwick Avenue. Alteration to garage block to rear of 2 and 4 Bergen Street. Stopping-up and change of use from highway to landscaped areas adjacent to 34 Berwick Avenue, 40 Berwick Avenue, 27 Bergen Streeet, and rear of 33 Borodin Avenue. Rear boundary walls and fences/incurtilage parking 15-31 (odd) Borodin Avenue, 6-18 (even) Belgrade Crescent, Town End Farm, Sunderland.
