The Stopping-up of Highways (Martins Terrace, Abercynon, Rhondda Cynon Taff) Order 199

The Secretary of State for Wales hereby gives notice that he proposes to make an Order under section 247 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 to authorise the stopping-up of the lengths of highway described in Schedule 1 to this notice.   If the Order is made, the stopping-up will be authorised only in order to enable the development described in Schedule 2 to this notice to be carried out in accordance with planning permission granted by Cynon Valley Borough Council on 11th March 1996 under Ref. 51/96/0040. The Order shall cease to have effect upon the cessation of this planning permission.   During the 28 days from 15th October 1998 copies of the draft Order and the deposited plan may be inspected during normal office hours at Abercynon Branch Library, Ynysmeurig Road, Abercynon or may be obtained, free of charge, from the address below quoting the Welsh Office reference.   Within the above-mentioned period of 28 days any person may, by notice to the Welsh Office Highways Directorate, Cathays Park, Cardiff CF1 3NQ, (quoting Ref. ZC 510-5-58-6), object to the making of the Order. In the preparation of an objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of any objection or representation may be communicated to other people who may be affected by it. R. D. Schedule 1 (All measurements are approximate)

  Description of the length of highway to be stopped up under this Order.   The highways to be stopped up are at Abercynon, Rhondda Cynon Taff and comprise:   (i) an irregular shaped length of Martins Terrace commencing at a point opposite Nos. 27-28 Martins Terrace and ending 5 metres south of that point having a total area of 5 square metres and a maximum width of 2 metres;   (ii) an irregular shaped length of Martins Terrace commencing at a point opposite the gable end of No. 28 Martins Terrace and ending 8 metres south of that point having a total area of 28 square metres and a maximum width of 8 metres.   Description of the new highway to be provided under this Order.   The highways to be provided are at Aberycynon, Rhondda Cynon Taff and comprise:   (i) a new 1.8 metre wide footway commencing at a point opposite No. 24 Martins Terrace and ending 58 metres south of that point;   (ii) a new 5.5 metre wide highway commencing 6 metres south of the gable end wall of No. 28 Martins Terrace and ending 14 metres south of that point.

  The development of 8 houses and the provision of playground facilities.
